ImmuneHealthXL part of the 6.8 million NWA project: META-IMMUNOTYPES
The National Science Agenda (NWA) granted 14 consortia with funding, including the META-IMMUNOTYPES consortium. The consortium will focus on smart technology and blood tests to make the early detection of chronic diseases possible and ImmuneHealthXL will be part of the consortium.
Within the programme line “Onderzoek op Routes door Consortia”, the NWA granted 14 consortia with a budget of 6.8 million euros. In these projects, researchers work together with knowledge partners and civil society organisation. Therefore, knowledge is developed and exploited to achieve scientific impact together.
META-IMMUNOTYPES
ImmuneHealthXL is proud to be a partner of META-IMMUNOTYPES, which focuses on decoding immune-metabolic homeostasis to better understand chronic diseases. Chronic disease like type 1 diabetes, cardiac diseases and other Immune Mediated Inflammatory diseases are increasing due to ageing and unhealthy lifestyles. Within the META-IMMUNOTYPES consortium, researchers will investigate how the immune system and metabolism work together, to recognize early warning signals for chronic diseases.
Learning more about these early warning signals provide the opportunity for prevention through lifestyle changes instead of having to treat with drugs. META-IMMUNOTYPES is a unique project because of the collaboration between scientists, clinicians, engineers, teachers, patients and artists. Together, they will be developing tools, education and awareness to promote health and alleviate the burden of chronic diseases on our society.
Role of ImmuneHealthXL
The consortium consists of 13 partners: Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam UMC - Location AMC, Amsterdam UMC - Location VUmc, Cytek Biosciences, Erasmus MC, University Leiden of Applied Sciences, ImmuneHealthXL, LASE Innovation, Lygature, Medical Centre for Prevention and Lifestyle, NIVEL -Netherlands Institute for Health Services Research, Foundation Lygature, and Foundation MU.
ImmuneHealthXL is proud to be a partner in the META-IMMUNOTYPES consortium. As a national hub for research and innovation across immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, ImmuneHealthXL brings together patients, researchers, clinicians, health foundations, and industry partners to uncover shared and disease-specific immunological mechanisms and accelerate the development of new therapeutic solutions.
Within the META-IMMUNOTYPES consortium, ImmuneHealthXL is responsible for valorization and patient engagement. IHXL does so by building on its extensive collaborations with patient organizations, valorization experts, and engagement initiatives. Furthermore, ImmuneHealthXL will ensure that the consortium results are effectively communicated across different stakeholder groups. This includes strategic guidance on implementation and awareness, as well as hands-on support in communication and outreach.
